Our facilities

Our horse riding centre was established in 1974. As you can imagine, we’ve got a lot of experience with horses and training up new riders.

Over this time our facilities have grown considerably to include two outdoor training schools, an indoor training school, show jumps and a cross country course. We also have a number of lecture rooms specially set up for those taking your equestrian examination training courses.

All our instructors are patient and experienced, dedicated to motivating you through your exams whilst keeping you at your own pace. We love seeing our riders progress and have enabled many people to follow their passion for horse riding not just as a hobby but as a career!

What else we offer

On top of our equestrian examination training courses, we also offer basic lessons either on a one-off occasion or on a weekly basis. If you or someone you know would like to take up riding for the first time, we have the perfect facilities for getting a beginner on the saddle for the first time.

Riders of all ages are welcome at our training centre – young and old. We also hold training days for the disabled.

We are always hosting fun and competitive events at Birr House Riding Centre. These may include jumping competitions or races. We require you to be of a certain level before competing in such events, however anyone is welcome to come along and spectate.

We also offer special riding days such as Pony days.

You can find out more about these events on our website and social media, or by making a direct enquiry with us.

We encourage people to join the Pony Club – a national organisation for all riders. You can find out more about membership by contacting us or by signing up online.
